Collection: All Dummy Rounds

These aren't molded replicas — every casing started as genuine, once-fired brass or shotgun shells, so the weight, headstamp, and wear are real. We also stock a line of custom-engraved novelty rounds (including our "We The People," Pledge of Allegiance, and Freedom/Veteran flag designs), and on request, we'll add a small drilled hole or a loose BB rattle inside any round — free of charge — so there's no question it's genuinely empty.

Film and theater props, cosplay and costume builds, reenactment and living-history displays, man-cave and collector decor, novelty gifts, necklaces, and keychains.

What exactly is a dummy round? A dummy round — also called fake ammo, a fake bullet, replica cartridge, prop round, or sometimes a snap cap — is a completely inert cartridge, built to look and feel like the real thing for display, props, or crafts.

Are these good for cosplay? Yes — cosplay and costume builds are one of the most popular uses here, since these are made from genuine brass rather than molded plastic replicas.

Is it legal to own dummy rounds? Generally yes in the U.S., since they contain no propellant or live primer — but rules can vary by state and locality, so it's worth checking your local laws if you're unsure. This isn't legal advice, just general information.

Are these the same as training snap caps? No — snap caps are typically machined from metal or synthetic material and built as a fake cartridge from scratch. Ours are authentic, once-fired brass or shotgun shells with a real bullet seated and crimped, giving them genuine weight, wear, and headstamp detail that a machined snap cap doesn't have.

Can I get a custom-engraved dummy round? Yes — we stock novelty engraved designs like "We The People," Pledge of Allegiance, and Freedom/Veteran flag rounds, and can discuss custom requests directly.

How do I know it's really inert? Free on request — we'll drill a small identifying hole, or add a loose BB inside so it rattles audibly when shaken, before shipping.
