50 Cal Dummy Round — Hornady Match Grade A-Max Bullet

This is a genuine once-fired .50 BMG brass casing — a real 50 cal dummy round (also called a 50 BMG dummy round) made from recovered military-surplus brass, not a machined or cast replica — hand-polished to a bright shine and fitted with a real Hornady A-Max Match Grade bullet, a genuine commercially available component with a sharp, precision-profile tip. That hand-finishing and real component sourcing is why this costs more than a mass-produced replica. Spent primer intact, no powder — completely safe to handle. This is a display piece only; not validated for training use. Custom engraving is available. Prefer the nickel finish, or a casing without a bullet? See our nickel-finish Match Grade round or our polished casing alone.

FAQs

Q: What makes this different from the standard dummy round? A: This one is fitted with a genuine Hornady A-Max Match Grade bullet, a precision component with a sharp, defined tip — a real, commercially available part, not a generic projectile.

Q: Is this the same as a 50 cal dummy round or 50 BMG dummy round? A: Yes — 50 cal dummy round, 50 BMG dummy round, and .50 BMG dummy round all describe this same item.

Q: Is this safe to handle and display? A: Yes — spent primer intact, no powder, completely inert and safe.

Q: Is there a way to get extra confirmation that this is genuinely inert? A: Yes — free of charge, on request. We can drill a small identifying hole through the casing, or insert a loose BB inside so it audibly rattles when shaken (a simple "rattle test" confirming there's nothing solid packed inside). Just contact us before shipping, and we're happy to add either option at no extra cost.

Q: Is this suitable for training or function checks? A: No — this is a display piece only, not validated for training use.

Q: When will my order ship? A: Most orders ship within 1 business day.
