Each empty .17 HMR bullet casing is drilled, cleaned, and tumbled — the hole measures approximately 1.5mm (1/16") and is centered close to true. Sharp edges are deburred smooth to the touch, so these pre-drilled casings are ready to use with no additional filing needed.

These pre-drilled spent casings are perfect for DIY bullet jewelry, dangle earrings (not included), bracelets (not included), and other patriotic craft projects.

Every casing is individually inspected for significant dents, dings, rust, cracks, and scratches. These empty shells are inert — no powder, no primer, and cannot be fired — completely safe for your project. Since they've been fired, expect some normal wear and marks from the firing process.

Pictures are a sampling of typical quality, color, and condition of these shells.

FAQs

Are these light enough to make earrings? Yes — these casings weigh a little over 1 gram each, about the same weight as a single Tic Tac.

Do brass casings rust? No, brass doesn't rust, though it can tarnish over time — a quick polish brings it right back to its original shine.

Are the dimensions and hole sizes consistent across batches? Yes — dimensions and hole sizes are carefully sorted and inspected for tight consistency across batches, so every casing fits your assembly process without unexpected filing or re-drilling.

What can I make with these drilled shells? Some of the most popular projects are earrings, pendant necklaces, charm bracelets, bag charms, wine glass charms, and ornaments — just to name a few.
